Most technology news answers one question: what happened. Reason Weekly was set up in February 2026 to answer the second one, which is the one that costs money: why, and what should a person who ships software do about it.
The format is the dispatch. Short, dated, numbers in the first paragraph, primary sources linked where the claims are made. Each one closes with a builder's read: the flat statement of what changes on Monday. Dispatches close weekly; when the week is thin, the wire stays quiet rather than padding.
House rules: no rewritten press releases, no access journalism, no anonymous "sources say", and corrections get printed at the top of the dispatch they correct. The desk reads filings, changelogs, papers and postmortems so you can read one email.
